Pleasant Hill Cemetery

The first burial in Pleasant Hill was in 1896. William “Uncle Billy” Brown who donated the land for the church, was the second in September 1897.

A 2020 study by New South Associates, Inc. determined that there is a total of 181 potential grave sites and decedents. Nineteen of these are unmarked probe-determined potential grave sites. They are marked by rectangular wood slabs.

There are 11 known veterans buried in Pleasant Hill; from the Civil War through the Viet Nam conflict. Pleasant Hill is a participant in Wreaths Across America each December on the third Saturday at noon. This event is held in American cemeteries across the United States and Europe.

The Post Oak Quercus stellate tree at the right of the Cemetery dates to 1890.
