Our Historic Tree
Chris Hastings, ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and dendrochronologist Maegan Rochener, PhD studied the Post Oak Quercus stellate in front of the building in November 2020. Using a tomography scan and coring done, they determined that this Buckhead icon dates to at least the 1730s +/- 10 years. The tree is noted on a survey done following the signing of the Indian Treaty of 1821 which passed the land to the United States.
